Scott graduated from Cornell University’s Landscape Architecture program in 1994. After briefly working at a design-build firm, he then joined John Morgan Thomas Landscape Architects, P.C., where he conducted residential and institutional design, as well as municipal consulting. In 2009, Scott joined Hess Landscape Architects, and has utilized his knowledge of horticulture to develop and execute planting designs for the firm. He also assists with the operations side of the firm, and his passion for language and writing help direct project documentation efforts and marketing.
Scott draws inspiration from the works of Fletcher Steele, A.E. Bye, and Jens Jensen. He enjoys balancing the exactness of architecture with restful, layered plantings. He is fluent in detail-scale design work and construction methods, is a proficient technical writer, and has an array of experience working with design consultants, contractors, and artisans from a variety of fields.
