Rich textures, layers of woody and herbaceous plantings, and integration of appealing details add charm and interest to this very traditional French Colonial style property. Remnant garden elements of yesteryear as well as antiques procured by the client were sited and combined seamlessly into the landscape. Preserved mature plantings enhance both the sense of privacy and the expansiveness of the site. Contrasting styles meld together beautifully: the formal pool area with its surrounding lawn “rug,” stands in contrast to the intimacy of the spa garden and its woodland feel.
