This grand landscape engages the Tudor manor home via a series of generously proportioned garden rooms and passageways. The garden’s geometrically-inspired formality is balanced by an indulgent layer of larger plantings, creating the suggestion of softer overarching structure. Clean lines and long vistas were emphasized by the arrangement and positioning of specific plants. Golf is a passion of the client, and several practice-length holes were incorporated, along with bent grass greens, sand traps, and a pond (which doubles as the irrigation water source).
