DESCRIPTION:
Hess Landscape Architects (HLA), a Philadelphia region landscape architecture firm, is seeking qualified applicants to fill an immediate full-time, Entry Level Position. We specialize in designing high end residential properties throughout the Mid-Atlantic, and have continued to expand into neighboring regions as well as internationally. We strive to craft unique spaces tailored to our client’s tastes and each site’s singular needs, while simultaneously incorporating selective signature elements as subtle reflections of our own design affinities. We believe balanced designs are distinguished by regionally appropriate materials, incorporation of relevant historical elements, and a broad knowledge and appreciation for our natural surroundings.

Projects are managed and implemented through joint efforts between our staff, our clients, and contractors. The ideal candidate for this position should be highly organized, detail oriented, and an excellent communicator capable of working in a team environment. Along with a degree from an accredited program in landscape architecture, candidates are required to show proficiency on all current design software, including AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and the Adobe Suite. Strong hand graphics and prior experience with planting design and/or a solid knowledge of plant materials are a plus. At this time, individuals who may already possess experience on projects similar to our current workload will receive preference. Licensed candidates or those who are on a direct licensure track will also be given strong preference.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an Accredited Program.
- Maximum of 3 Years of relevant work experience in a Landscape Architectural firm.
- Previous internship(s) in a landscape architectural office setting.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lumion and SketchUp.
- Proficient in Hand Graphics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of regional plant material.
- Working knowledge of high-end residential design, and construction materials and methods.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture
